They come in a 12 pack in a really nice clip plastic storage box. The crayons themselves are very large and have a wonderful smooth consistency.
When you first look at them they look like markers- but they are almost like giant water soluble oil pastels- and they are twistable. I love these!
Here is a chart of the colors with water added- they took very little water to activate and for the most part came out very bright. My only complaint was the beige-colored crayon practically disappeared when water was added to it but this seems to be true for all the gel crayons I have tried.
I did a quick sketch of this flamingo using a few layers of the smoothy crayons. The crayons are really thick so small details were very difficult but I did add pigment directly from the crayon onto a small brush for the pupil and it worked out rather well. I blended red, pink, beige and brown on the feathers and they blended together nicely. They dissolved a lot better than some of the brands I've tried and they were a lot of fun to use, particularly because of the oily, smooth consistency. They can also be blended easily with your fingers.
Overall...
Pros: inexpensive when compared to similar products, bright colors, large size makes covering bigger areas easier, blends well with fingers or water, sturdy and unbreakable :)
Cons: hard to do fine details, limited color selection
